Mila Lopez, lifestyle medicine doctor, phoenix magazine top doc, primary care doctor, scottsdale doctor, scottsdale doctor near me, family doctor, medical doctor

A note from the doctor.

I was born in Montreal, Canada, and raised by my parents who immigrated from South India in the 1970s. Plant-forward meals, ancient Ayurvedic remedies, yoga, and meditation were a natural part of my upbringing. Ironically, I rarely visited the doctor as a child! Instead, our family turned to my grandmother, the matriarch and our trusted healer. Turmeric for this, ginger for that, and a marigold flower under my pillow—for good luck, of course!

Fast forward to today: I’m now a physician, married to my medical school sweetheart, and a mother of three. In many ways, I’ve stepped into my grandmother’s role—caring for my family, blending science with the art of healing. I’m board-certified in both Family Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine, practicing primary care in Scottsdale, Arizona. While medicine is deeply rooted in science, I’ve always believed that true healing is an art.

And speaking of art—I’ve always been an artist at heart. Before becoming a physician, I was a lifelong dancer and later a group fitness instructor. I still take ballet lessons! My love for culinary arts began at age seven, and photography allows me to capture the beauty I see in the world. Nothing fills my cup like traveling, immersing myself in different cultures, and learning how to say “hello” and “thank you” in as many languages as possible. And if there’s one thing I know for sure, a warm smile is the universal language of kindness.

Throughout my life and travels, I’ve been drawn to the unique stories of the people I meet—each one adding a new chapter to my own journey. That same curiosity is what led me to family medicine. Now, I’m excited to extend my reach beyond the walls of my clinic, connecting with a community of wellness seekers and like-minded professionals across the globe.

As a lifestyle medicine physician, my goal is to help people uncover the root causes of illness by focusing on six key pillars of health: whole-food, plant-based nutrition, movement, restorative sleep, stress management, social connection, and avoiding harmful substances. While I’ll be sharing insights on social media and my blog, remember—this is for education and inspiration, not medical advice. Always consult your own healthcare provider for personalized guidance.

At the heart of my work is a simple mission: to help people embrace the luxury of longevity and vibrant health. Through nutritious food, movement, mindfulness, rest, self-love, kindness, and connection, I hope to inspire a life that feels as good as it looks.

Let’s embark on this journey together!

Sincerely, Dr. Mila
